Your Library Card

Who is eligible for a library card?

SALS/MVLS Library CardResident library cards may be issued to a person who is a resident of the Library District and who presents proof of identity and address. Non-resident library cards may be issued to all other NYS residents who provide proof of identity and address. Some materials are only available or have priority for patrons who live or own property in the library district service area. For more information on borrowing, see library borrowing policies.

How can I get a library card?

To apply for a card, bring a completed library card application form (you can type your information right into this form and print it out), along with a piece of ID which shows your name and current address, to the Library in person. The Library does not accepted applications which are mailed in, nor does it mail cards. A parent's or guardian's signature is also required for patrons under 12.

What can I do with my library card?

Your library card is the key to a wide range of services provided by the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, including internet access and a wealth of information available in online databases. Your library card also gives you access to your Patron Account, where you can renew and reserve materials and update your personal information (address, phone number, etc.)

Where can I use my library card?

Your library card may be used at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library plus any other public library that is a member of SALS or MVLS. These library systems serve Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Washington and Warren Counties.
