Who may use library services?
Anyone may use the library, however, some services are only available or have priority for patrons who live or own property in the library district service area--Clifton Park and Halfmoon, such as high-interest programs, new books and some audiovisual materials. See Borrowing Policies for more information on what materials may be borrowed.

Why are some services restricted to library district residents?
Because some materials and programs are in very high demand, they remain a privilege for library district residents and tax payers.

How much do these services cost?
Our library services--funded through taxpayer support--are free, with the exception of several small cost-recovery charges: 10 cents/page for black & white printing, 50 cents/page for color printing, 15 cents/page for photocopying, $1.00/page for faxing. The postage fees associated with requesting books from outside the Saratoga area are also charged.

What equipment is available for in-Library use?
The Library has public access computers available for accessing on-line databases, on-line catalogs, the Internet and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint) and black & white and color printing. Patrons are required to enter a valid library card number to log on to the computers. In addition, patrons under the age of 18 need to have a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian on file at the the library in order to gain access to the Internet. Also available are copy machines and a microfilm copier, scanner, fax machine, a microfiche reader/printer & copier, and multimedia computers with Educational software for children.

What other services do you provide?
The Library has conference rooms for public use (please inquire about reserving), a Local History Room featuring local historic documents and records, programs for all ages, a computer lab for instruction and public access, reading area for children, quiet rooms for studying, and barrier free access/parking for disabled visitors.
