Library Updates

April 13, 2026

In the coming days, you will notice a new look when searching our online catalog or accessing your library account. This new system is designed to be ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant and is being launched throughout all of the libraries in the Southern Adirondack Library System. Please be patient as we roll out these changes and navigate any issues that may arise. At this time, mobile access is not fully functional. If you need help with the catalog, please call the Library at 518-371-8622 and we will be happy to assist you.

April 1, 2026

We are excited to announce several changes!

Our digital content is moving exclusively to Libby. You’ll see expanded access and shorter wait times for Library Tax District users. Starting April 1, ALL Libby users will need to verify their library card in the Libby app. You will need to log out of your Libby account, then log back in with your current library card. Need help? Fill out a Get Help form and our Digital Services librarian will contact you.

You may have already discovered our updated Library of Things. This collection can be found under the Borrow tab on our homepage and includes nontraditional items such as a telescope, binoculars, soil testers, record players, and more. We encourage you to explore the collection and try something new!

March 9, 2026:

We’re refreshing our online resources! The Library is committed to serving our community’s increasing demand for digital materials. As of April 1, we will retire cloudLibrary and expand access to Libby, with an increase in titles and greater priority given to our Library Tax District residents.

When is the last day I can borrow materials from cloudLibrary?

March 16 is the last day to borrow items for their full loan period of two weeks.

Will I still be able to see my history in cloudLibrary?

Your reading history will not be accessible after April 1. If you would like to save your CloudLibrary reading history, we recommend apps such as Goodreads, StoryGraph, Bookmory, and Bookly.

How can I borrow ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines?

You can access Libby for all of your digital reading materials! We are pivoting our resources to expand access to Libby’s robust digital collection and increase priority waiting times to our Library Tax District residents. We appreciate your understanding as we make adjustments to provide the best possible service!
